Madeleine Serd-Croix François de Bullion was a French aristocrat and Templar that operated in France and the Caribbean in the late 18th century. She was the older sister of Louis de Bullion. She was married to a French duke, but was soon divorced from him. She did then lived in Caribbean with her concubine: Charlotte LeFay. During the purge of Assassins in Caribbean, Madeleine and her associate Mr. Kerr brought the Assassins to their knees, making the Templars gain control of Caribbean once again after Edward Kenway had taken down the Order so many years ago – this resulting in to rogue Templars aiding Fidel Castro when he tried to gain power in Cuba and Havana.
In 1788, Madeleine got a letter that told her to return to France. The Templar Order needed her to plunder food that was coming into Paris, by paying Madame Flavigny and Marie Lévesque for doing the dirty-work. Also, Bullion wanted to see her sister in the dark times of the French Revolution. With the death of the old Grand Master de la Serre, Madeleine swore her allegiance to the silversmith Germain. She became one of duke de Orléans' servants – and his lover to times.
In 2018, her genetic memories were suggested to be used as an Animi Avatar by the Abstergo Entertainment under the pseudonym of The General in Assassin's Creed: Changes, but was replaced by Enok Jytte (The Diplomat). Later however, they were used to open some memories of her own in the Caribbean during the Purge.

At the eve of 18 March, Madeleine was born by marquess Quintina and marquis Andrés François. She was later the older sister of two siblings: Louis-Dominique and Élise. She was born in wealth, and had no physical problems when she was born – and during her lifetime. She was a passionate aristocrat, and belonged to the French nobility. She and her siblings played often with a girl who was called Charlotte LeFay, of whom would later become Madeleine's concubine.

At the age of 18, Madeleine had been inducted to the Templar Order and forced into marriage with a duke. The ceremony was highly formally, and at the end of the day, she was brought to bed – where she was raped by her new husband. The marriage lasted in four years. She was later divorced from the man when she could not give birth to son: all her children was stillborn, too. The duke married anew, and Madeleine was sent back to her family's estate in 1760.
Ashamed from the failed marriage, Madeleine fled to Port-au-Prince with Charlotte. She established her own company with Charlotte, but it was difficult to do anything, because she was suppressed by the Caribbean Assassins. She and Charlotte did therefore called on help from the colonies, which turned a blind eye. She asked the governor for help, and he did – in exchange for sex. She accepted: she had nothing. Madeleine did later earned one of the governor's plantations. This was to shut her mouth of her son that she had got with the governor: Marie-Jean LeFay du Port-au-Prince.
As Madeleine established contacts with other slave-owners, Charlotte managed to find someone who could help them with their finances in establishing of their company: a man named Philippe. He was a Templar, unknown to Charlotte, and was more than happy to help a sister in need – Madeleine. Madeleine did however had problems: she, Charlotte and Philippe was under constant watching of the Assassins that had ruled the city since Pierre de Fayet was murdered by Adéwalé in 1737. Although she had it ruff, Madeleine had chose to travel here because Charlotte always had wanted to go live there.

Madeleine, Charlotte and Philippe still worked with their Bullion-plantation in Port-au-Prince. Charlotte and Madeleine taught their son in Order and discipline. Philippe took the boy at parades at the plantation all the years, and taught him what he needed to know when he was going to do business with contracts in the Caribbean. In 1770, the colonial Templar Rite and the Rite of Nouvelle Orléans (New Orleans) had executed a hunt for Assassins in whole Caribbean – which sounded like music to Madeleine's ears. Charlotte and her concubine, Madeleine, had reached the age of 32; Philippe was at the age of 43; Marie-Jean was at the age of 7.
The Company Man[]
During the Purge of Assassins, Madeleine got a letter signed "The Company Man". The letter said that the Order in Nouvelle Orléans was in desperate need of more members, soldiers, supplies and ships. Madeleine did not understood: she had never been in touch with the Rite of Nouvelle Orléans, but knew The Company Man had great influence within the Order. Madeleine answered that she would like to meet the Comapny Man so they could discuss this face to face. When the answer came, news of death of an officer named Victor Jensen had reached Port-au-Prince. The letter said that the Company Man was busy by administrate the Order in Nouvelle Orléans. Instead a delegate for Nouvelle Orléans' Order named Diego Vázquez. Diego was in the power to negotiate on behalf of the Company Man. He would arrive some days after the letter was delivered.

Early in July 1770, Diego Vázquez arrived in the harbor of Port-au-Prince. Diego was a 1/3 Spanish, 1/3 English, and 1/3 French. His mother was Spanish, his first father was English – but he died in a war when Diego was 13 – his second father was French: Carlos could therefore speak Spanish, English and French fluent. Madeleine had sent Charlotte to meet Diego, and was therefore a bit surprised when Diego arrived at midday: she expected him first in the evening. They did however walked outside and around the Bullion-plantation. They discussed what The Company Man wished of her: it was simply too much to ask at one time. Madeleine needed more time: the things The Company Man wished from her was not simple wishes, but a question of raising a little army. Diego told Madeleine that if his master, The Company Man, became pleased with her work, Madeleine would be granted enough money to live in luxury rest of her life – and the sum would cover Madeleine's expenditure when she was done, plus a bonus.
The Company Man had also given a letter to Diego, which the man gave Madeleine before he took his goodbyes. He would be at a tavern the coming week – if Madeleine wanted to talk to him. Madeleine gave orders to a servant to show Diego the way out; afterwards she sat down on a chair with the letter in her hands. The Company Man had written this:
"1770, Nouvelle Orléans
Bonjour, mademoiselle de Bullion. I wish to inform you of the Nouvelle Orléans' most urgent situation. We have this most delicate problem: our Assassin, lady Concord, having trouble. We know she will take down the headmasters of the Assassins foot-soldiers, but you know – as well as I do – that the Assassins never working alone when they are trying to build themselves an army. We need to destroy the rest of the Assassins' fellowmen. I do therefore wish you to accept my hand of help, and will help me raising an army. Under is a list of Caribbean Assassins that need to be removed:
- François Léon, Saint-Pierre
- Lucinda Potter, Nassau
- Chavrier Neon, Nassau
- Larry Crowther, Port Royal
These Assassins need to be removed as soon as possible: these Assassins is lady Concord's target's lieutenants and will one hundred precent take back Caribbean if we, The Order, don't kill them. I do therefore ask you, your fellow-Templar – Philippe – start to build an army that can take down the Assassins named above. Below is a list of Templars that will be stationed in the different locations where Concord in on her way. These locations is the most vulnerable when the Assassins' leader is removed:

The Army[]
As soon as the week was over, Diego had left for the time being: he would return as soon as Madeleine asked for him again. Madeleine and Philippe immediately started to locate men and women that could be good Templar-puppets or -allies. Philippe used more money than he had to create and buy ships from the French Navy, but in short time was the Fleet of Bullion ready. Madeleine used her time to push on the slaves: Nouvelle Orléans needed more goods and supplies for their war against the Caribbean Assassins. She did also carried away business that had to do with buying weapons from men in whole Caribbean; she had contracts with men at plantations all around in Haiti and Cuba; merchants from all of Middle-America wanted to sell their goods to Madeleine. Charlotte knew of the business, and she traveled to the islands in Caribbean to recruit more Templars or just some soldiers. (Charlotte had just get known briefley with the whole concept, and with that to be considered as a Templar-puppet.)
In January 1771, Madeleine wrote a letter to Diego:
"Diego, all my work have paid itself. Now I have the army that The Company Man have asked for. My army is now on following numbers:
- Fleet of Bullion has not less than 38 ships (20 brigs, 15 frigates and 3 Men O' War)
- Supplies that can last for 3/4 year
- 2 500 troops
- 9 Templars
- Tons of powder, guns and bullets

Lady Concord[]

The Caribbean Purge lasted from 1770 to 1776. It started in June 1770, and with the death of Claude Dimanche in 1772, the Order thought they had the grip of the Caribbean, but lady Concord made the Order go on a bummer. After the fall of Assassins at Great Inagua, she took control over the island. In early 1776 it was discovered that Concord actually helped the Assassins. She had been a part of the Caribbean Brotherhood since 1772, and was now the Mentor. For her treachery, Haytham Kenway – Grand Master of the Colonial Rite – sent an apprentice to Madeleine: Callum Kerr. Callum was supposed to do tasks for the Order, but in fact a puppet to take down Concord. The turncoat knew the Caribbean Templars' tactics. Callum was tasked to take down Concord's network of Assassins in Caribbean: Delaware Dinsmore, Condor Apito, Songui and Ruby Travers.
Under the guidance of the French aristocrat Madeleine, Callum Kerr was tasked to execute the five contracts. The Templars' grip in the Caribbean had been weakened thanked to the Templar-turncoat Concord. The Assassins ran their own operations which worked against their own cause.
Callum located Delaware in Havana. To disguise himself from the Spaniard guards, Madeleine had bought Callum sails and a flag that would give the ship a Spanish-lookalike style. When he anchored in Havana, Callum was welcomed by the Cuban Governor. Whilst in Havana, Callum used his time to locate the Assassins and their bureau. He found Dinsmore in the southern part of the city. Callum led an assault on her and her acolytes of Assassins, making the woman take her own life – refusing to make a Templar claim her and her bureau. The other Assassins at the bureau was given the chance to either be executed or being introduced to the Order.
The Watchman was the ship of lady Concord, and protected the cove of Great Inagua – she was sunk by La Grande Gazelle
Callum proceeded in the same way when was suppose to locate the other targets. When the four first targets was dealt with, Callum found lady Concord in a mansion located at Great Inagua. Since lady Concord was the Mentor of the Assassins, she was heavily protected. Madeleine wanted self to come to the battle, along with an armada of French ships. La Grande Gazelle was the first ship to entering the cove, and send mortars to the village. Great Inagua was used as the new main-location for the Caribbean Assassins, and if the Templars managed to take over the island, they would manage to weaken the Assassins drastically.

La Gazelle destroyed everything the Assassins had built, and when the French Navy anchored in the harbor, they killed every pirate that still lived there. Madeleine and Callum ran to the mansion, where they located lady Concord – with many Assassins. Callum wanted Madeleine to wait for the soldiers, which she did not agreed to. She followed Callum into the gardens of Kenway's old mansion – which had seen it's better days. Callum knew where the Assassins hid, and Madeleine shot them.
Inside the manor, Madeleine and Callum was attacked by lady Concord and three skilled Assassins. While Callum fought against the Assassins, lady Concord managed to escape – Madeleine followed her. At the cliff where the guest house was located. Lady Concord draw her sword, and Madeleine her's. The fighting went on for minutes, with the one lunge more lethal than the other one. At the same time, La Gazelle roared. She shot mortars up to the mansion and to the guest house (the crew did not saw Madeleine fighting up there). The result was that lady Concord was hurt, and Madeleine grabbed her. She dragged the woman to the edge of the cliff, where she threw the Assassin down. If lady Concord did not died of the fall, she died of the piranhas that waited at the end. Madeleine watched at the little village. La Gazelle had managed to destroy the town, and the Assassins' home.
After the contracts and the teaching Madeleine had given Callum, she made him a Master Templar, harbinger of a New World. The Assassin Purge had come to an end: The Caribbean was in full control of the Templars.

Augustin Rouen, Madeleine's second-in-command in the Caribbean Rite
In 1776, Madeleine had given herself the rank of Grand Master of the Caribbean Rite. In 1778 her network of Templars had their fingers in all of the industrial work in the Central America that was in the elementary stage. She and her associates had pointed out a man named Augustin Rouen to be her successor and second-in-command. Now as the Templars now ruled Caribbean in the shadows, everything was in its place: Nothing like if the Assassins had ruled – they would have made everything be to the people, while some decisions had to be done by those who had a greater education. To enlighten more people, Madeleine had – on the guidance of Charlotte – built academies and schools to the people: the money had come from her own pocket – this would never happen if the Assassins had the control.
Jean-Baptiste Orpheus
Although everything was in its place for the Templars, Augustin soon located a snake in their midst: a man named Jean-Baptiste de Orpheus. Orpheus was a man that had been a great supporter of the Rite of New Orleans. He had betrayed them when Aveline de Grandpré had murdered Madeleine de L'Isle and the rest of the members of the Rite. Now he lived at a plantation, where he recruited men and women that would like to get rid of people like Madeleine de Bullion and her associates – and worked as the Tax Collector for the Templar Order. He did also had another motive: he hated that Madeleine had chosen Rouen instead of him as her successor. He wanted to kill Rouen, Charlotte, Grand Master Madeleine and her son. As soon as Madeleine was acquainted with the situation, she wanted Augustin to find him and kill him. In the time being, she would use Charlotte and their influence to take down all transactions of Orpheus.
Weeks later, Augustin managed to locate the traitor Orpheus. Orpheus had paid two Templars to work with him: the brothers Edward and Marcus Rockmail. The three men had all a plantation in their control, and Augustin made sure that their secret business could not go further by just taking down Orpheus. The Rockmail-brothers had not regretted on anything they had done: they had betrayed Madeleine and LeFay for the greater good.
Madame Jeanne Orpheus
In October 1778, Madeleine and Charlotte made their way to the plantation where Orpheus was to be located: Montez. The plantation had fallen to the Frenchmen when Orpheus bought it in 1775, but was soon to be released from it's owner. Madeleine had asked Augustin to stay behind in case she fell. Charlotte wanted to be killed along with Madeleine if she fell to Orpheus' blade. Madeleine and Charlotte used a brig to enter the cove of the plantation. The Grand Master and Charlotte could simply walk into the plantation: as far as Orpheus knew, Madeleine had no idea of him trying to get rid of her.

Approaching the mansion, Madeleine and Charlotte saw Orpheus held a Templar-ball. Orpheus danced along with his wife, Jeanne de Orpheus. When the leader of the plantation saw Madeleine coming to him, he immediately walked up to her. His wife, madame Orpheus, walked up to a man that stood by some fireworks. Charlotte had got a knife from Madeleine to kill Jeanne Orpheus. The brig had got orders to fire mortars to the mansion as soon as the crew saw someone falling from the cliff. Charlotte was supposed to kill Jeanne as soon as she got the chance. Madeleine walked to the cliff the mansion lay on. She knew Orpheus wanted to kill her: he had his hand on the pistol. They talked about Templar-affairs. In her corner of the eye, Madeleine saw some men starting to create the fireworks. To buy time, Madeleine told that she had heard of Orpheus being irritated that she chose Augustin Rouen instead of him as her successor, but that she had changed her mind. Orpheus turned to Madeleine to tell him how happy he was. A firework shot into the air, and Madeleine used all of her power to push the man over the edge of the cliff. His scream could not be heard of the roar of the firework. Madeleine walked away, and saw that Charlotte just killed Jeanne, and put her in the bushes: she used the distraction of the fireworks as well – people was too busy to watch the firework itself. Mademoiselle Martinique, Madeleine and Charlotte's Templar-brig, shot her mortars up and hit the mansion. Madeleine and Charlotte ran with all of their powers. They reached the brig, watching the mansion of the traitor be set ablaze.

Location of Le Louroux
With the death of the Orpheus's, Madeleine got a letter from her brother Bullion in 1781. It said that he was an officer of a small city called Le Louroux. He wanted his sister to meet him again. He had not seen her since she moved to Caribbean. Many things had happened, but he was afraid on her behalf. He was afraid that the American Revolution would make the Templars fall to their knees – in France people also began to think in rebellious ways. He needed someone of family to support him: their sister, Élise, lived in Canada – and their mother refused to see him because of the rumors that said he was attracted to men. Madeleine understood his reason, and she left Caribbean for some months with Charlotte and their son, Marie-Jean – now at the age of 18. The Order in Caribbean did now had to obey Augustin Rouen.
Back in France once more, Madeleine was welcomed in La Rochelle by a man that worked for Bullion. Bullion had arranged with a carriage that could take their belongings to his estate in Le Louroux. Upon the arrival at the estate, the two siblings embraced each other. Just like when a groom is lifting his bride into the air and spinning, so did Bullion to his sister: he was so glad to finally meet someone he could put his life in. Charlotte LeFay was happy to meet Bullion, too; the two gave each other a kiss on the cheek, before Madeleine presented her son to Bullion.
Months passed, and soon it was time to leave. But Bullion begged Madeleine to stay, and so she did: she wanted to stay with her remaining family. Disgrace had med her flee from her problems. Their mother would most likely die soon, and so Bullion would not have any one left in France. She stayed, but Charlotte needed to leave: the business of their company in Port-au-Prince still had to be administrated. In August 1781, Charlotte left France. Marie-Jean had chose to stay in France, too. But before leaving, Madeleine gave her a letter that she did not had to open before she was back in Port-au-Prince.
In the letter it stood that Madeleine would never return, but her son might would – if he wanted to. Charlotte was given the rank of Grand Master of Caribbean to her death. After the death of Charlotte, Augustin would be the new Grand Master. Madeleine had chose to stay because of her brother. The Bullions had lots of money, and therefore would Charlotte be the heir to the Caribbean company's fortune. Although this was to be fulfilled, Charlotte sent a monthly sum of money to Madeleine and Marie-Jean

Callum Kerr, Master Templar of the Colonial Rite – later Grand Master
In 1783, Madeleine received a letter from her former apprentice, Callum Kerr. It said that after the American Revolutionary War, the whole American branch of the Templar Order had been removed by Connor Kenway – an Assassin that was feared in France. Callum felt lost, sad, and anger after the death of his friends and mentors who had been teaching him everything he knew. His mental health also somewhat declined as he was having thoughts about just ending his life, but whenever he tried or thought about it, he didn't. Callum's head was always telling him not to do it, that there was still hope and things would fall into place in time. A few months of living in his Boston apartment, Callum had picked up a job as a worker at the local general store, a job he found immensely boring and wanted to find a way to rebuild the American rite of Templars. He quested her to learn him how he could rebuild the Templars and become stronger and smarter. The letter answered him arrived some weeks later – the ship that came with the mail was slow.

In late December 1783, Callum was welcomed in La Rochelle by Madeleine's son: Marie-Jean LeFay François. Marie-Jean was now 19 years old, and Callum 33. Marie-Jean had come with a carriage: ready to get Callum's belongings to the estate in Le Louroux. On the ride to the estate, Marie-Jean told everything he had been told by her mother on what had happened in Caribbean after Callum left: from the establishing of the Caribbean Rite, to the hunt for the traitors within the Order. He told things about his mother's past, which had been told him when they traveled to France earlier in 1783. He even told Callum of his mother's sexual orientation as lesbian, but that himself was attracted to females. Upon the arrival at the estate, Madeleine was the one to welcome him: Louis was out on a business trip to Marseille, and would be gone for at least two months, leaving the control of Le Louroux in her power.
That night, Callum and Marie-Jean trained in fighting with sword and dirk: making the training Callum had received from his mentor Shay, now was delivered to Marie-Jean. The young man was eager to learn the mastering of sword, though not so much in the dirk. Callum toughed him the skills of parkour, stealth and fighting. Marie-Jean would later join Callum on many of his adventures.
The next day, Callum and Madeleine took a walk in the gardens of Bullion's estate. They talked for several hours. Madeleine told Callum to be a great leader, a person needed helpers – and keys to the different parts of society. In Caribbean, Madeleine had a long list of "keys": this was the reason why the Templars had so many helpers – to keep control within their range. But one had to make the keys happy, or else they would try to take one down. In Caribbean, Orpheus had chose to ignore the norms and ideology of the Order. In order to keep the peace, this key had to be removed. Furthermore, a leader of the Templar Order needed a successor – someone worthy when the Grand Master fell. In the Colonies' case it was Charles Lee for Haytham Kenway – in her own case, it was Augustin Rouen and Charlotte who were her's. Also, a leader of the Templar Order needed to take down his or hers enemies. In the case of Madeleine it was Delaware Dinsmore, Ruby Travers, Songui, Condor Apito and lady Concord.
The following weeks, Callum Kerr and Madeleine discussed Templar-affaires, who Callum could contact in Boston and New York to find his "keys". He had his La Grande Gazelle that had been given from Bullion. Also, Callum would undoubtedly find a supporter in Augustin or Charlotte in Caribbean, both to be located in Port-au-Prince. At night, Callum and Marie-Jean trained, growing closer and closer friends. Madeleine was proud of her son, and of Callum – knowing he soon would be Grand Master, if he followed her steps and advices. Bullion had returned for some weeks, and he tried time and time again to flirt with Callum and even kiss him. Madeleine made him stop, however: Callum was not a toy, and Bullion was an aristocrat.
Upon the arrival of Callum, Marie-Jean had asked his mother if he could go with Callum – and Madeleine was happy to tell him that Callum would now be his master and friend. Together, Callum and Marie-Jean traveled back to the colonies. Speaking would not be a problem, because Marie-Jean had learned English in the classes to Philippe – Madeleine's old friend.
French Revolution[]
With the death of François de la Serre in 1789, the New Order was established itself, with Germain as Grand Master. His second-in-command was Robespierre, but the duke of Orléans was also a close ally. Madeleine had arrived in Paris to swear her allegiance to the reformed Parisian Rite, and lived at the Palais-Royale with her brother. Charlotte, Madeleine's concubine, still lived in Port-au-Prince to serve the Bullion-plantation. In the Palais-Royale, the two siblings made their way into the high society. They become known with the count de Gambais and his son – which feared the Austrians.
As a reformed Templar, Madeleine's task was to hoard the food from the citizens of Paris. Germain's thoughts was to starve the people. Through famine and fury the citizens of Paris would see their masters for what they were. Madeleine served under the duke of Orléans however, and he was of the opinion that Bullion should hoard food for bad times. When the people needed food, the Templars would give them this. Gradually, the Templars would have control over the citizens. Germain wanted chaos, the duke of Orléans wanted secret control.
Death[]
Madeleine's task to hoard the food from the people was easy enough. She cooperated with Mme. Flavigny, Flavigny's associate and Marie Lévesque to hoard the food, and this was placed in two different locations: under the Palais du Luxembourg, and in Flavigny's shop in Les Halles. One day during the revolution Madeleine and her brother held a party at the Palais du Luxembourg to ensure their amity with the politicians in the Jacobin Club. At some point, a large crowd charged into the courtyard of the palace. They wanted food, and Théroigne de Méricourt and other revolutionaries – with the help of some Assassins – had located the it, and now the revolutionary de Méricourt wanted vengeance: she wanted to eliminate the woman who was portrayed often in the Journal de Paris as a food-hoarder; no woman needed so much food. To quote de Méricourt:
Madeleine, accompanied by her brother, moments before being killed
"That bounty could feed a hundred starving poor, or one nobleman."
The crowd threw rocks inside the palace and killed Madeleine François de Bullion first; a rock hit her in the head and killed her immediately. The aristocrats fled in a hurry: no one told them of murdering! The guards took their muskets and rifles to protect the marquis. Four Assassins entered the room – of which two of them was Pierre Étienne and Louis la Mort – and killed the guards before walking up to the marquis. Pierre took out his sword and sliced the chest of the aristocrat, and afterwards another of the Assassins threw Bullion out to the people who waited eagerly to see the man killed. They chopped of his head, and put it on a stake, along with other aristocrats' heads.

At the burial of Madeleine and her brother in Holy Innocents' Cementery, Madeleine's son, Charlotte, Callum Kerr, Augustin Rouen and members of the Caribbean Rite was the only one coming to her burial. Their mother refused to come, so did their sister. The following year died Charlotte, and Augustin became the new Grand Master, as promised.
